1st Annual Walleye Tournament


Rules and Regulations:

1) All team members must possess a valid Wisconsin fishing license.

2) Entrants must be 18 years of age or must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

3) Only fish that are caught by hook and line will be eligible.

4) Live bait, artificial bait and lure are allowed.

5) Fish are subject to a complete inspection, if deemed necessary by a tournament official.

6) All occupants of a boat must be registered contestants.

7) No refunds on tournament entries. All entries are final. No exceptions.

8) Entry fee is $35.00 per person - $70.00 per team. A team will consist of 2 people. Each team will be able to weigh 6 walleyes.

9) There will be only 50 boats or watercraft in the tournament.

10) Team entries will be a first come-first entry basis, and that entries will be paid in full. Ease out will be in the order of team numbers.

11) Ease out will start at 7:00 a.m. at the dock at Butternut Resort. Please have live wells, coolers, and compartments open approaching dock fr inspection. This is a no wake area. Please approach in numerical order.

12) All team members must sign a waiver form before they will be allowed to fish.

13) Tournament hours will be at 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007. No fish will be weighed or measured after tournament hours. There will be a grace period, depending on how many teams are waiting to register their fish. Grace period is to be determined by a tournament official.

14) No team member may leave their boat except at the docks of Butternut Resort, Northern Pines, and the DNR boat landing. Tournament officials will be monitoring these areas.

15) All Wisconsin fishing and boating regulations apply. Life jackets must be worn while motor is running.

16) No alcoholic beverages are allowed in tournament boats during tournament hours.

17) Any fish you take into possession which you do not release immediately is part of your daily bag limit, even if it is released later.

18) Any contestant receiving a citation for a violation of any boating or fishing regulation is subject to immediate disqualification during tournament hours.

19) All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, and conservation, and to conduct themselves in a manner that will be a credit to themselves, sponsors, and the sport of fishing.

20) All rules have loopholes. It is our intention to provide an honest, sportsmanlike tournament.

21) All decisions of the tournament judges are final.

22) All fish will be weighed and measured at the docks at Butternut Resort. If a team catches a fish that they would like to release, it must be weighed and measured by a tournament official, a picture taken and then released. The fish will be a part of your daily bag limit.

23) Team fish will be weighed to the nearest ounce. They will be measured down to the nearest 1/8”.

24) Team prizes will be awarded through 3rd place. Prizes will be awarded by the number of entries in the tournament.

25) There will be prizes for the longest walleye, northern, and crappie measured.

26) In case of a tie, a tournament official will decide the winner by: 2 team tie – coin flip; 3 team tie – draw straws with the longest straw as the winner.

27) If any prizes are not won through the qualification of fish, they will be drawn for at the award ceremony with eligible entrants being the non-winners. Must be present to win.

28) Please respect all boaters.

29) Once you are checked by an official at ease out, you are free to fish. GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!

30) Some rules are subject to change, depending on DNR rules and regulations.

31) Fish may be weighed or measured any time during tournament hours. A fin will be clipped to assure duplicate weight or length.


Tournament Entry Fee is $70.00 per team. Full payment will secure starting position in the order in which they are received.

Registration will be held at Butternut Resort

Fishing hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
